Whole Community

Bringing our stakeholders together to support the locals of the hills in need.

At Mountain Wholefoods we have a single mission... to offer the best quality produce and grocery items to the great people of the hills. But this mission extends to everyone, not just those who can afford it. This is why we work closely with local organisations such as Ozharvest and The Philanthropic Collective. From the very beginning we were finding ways to both fund meals for Australians experiencing food insecurity, but also buying food to donate to local residents in need.

But as we are a small local business with limited supplies and reach, we built a new initiative that would bring all our stakeholders, suppliers and customers together so we can make a wider difference in the community. This is where Whole Community was born. It's an initiative we run where we have reached out to our suppliers and other companies we work with, and partnered with them to take any unused, damaged or products past their 'best before' date, and donate them to people who really need them. This not only is helping locals in need, but also helps reduce food waste from our supply chains.

How Can I Help?

Can you help locals in need whilst reducing your own food waste footprint? Yes! Along with our partnerships with our suppliers, we also are more than happy to take any unopened & non perishable goods. These can be dropped off in our donation basket at our store and will be collected every Wednesday as part of 'The Philanthropic Collective' free food program. This can be a can left at the back of your pantry, shelf stable milk, or anything else you may have lying around your house.
